River is one of the most well know trails in Whistler and most ridden. An upper middle level trail, it has had some extensive work done on it over the last few years. More of a technical trail that will test your balance skills.
Directions:
Ride to the botton of Lormier Road, across the bridge and railway tracks and ride on the left side of the gravel pit. If you follow this road it will come to another clearing and have a short climb at the other side. The first entrance is on your left just up the climb.
This sections is harder than the rest and can be skipped by continuing up the road to Alta Lake Road and taking a left, you will see an entrance on the left side a bit aways.
Once you have ridden the whole trail you will be about 1km from Rainbow Park, turn left on Alta Lake Rd and take a dip in the lake to cool off. Or better yet, ride the trail backwards.
Ride Length:
1-1.5 hours
Ability:
Intermediate / Advanced
