Trestle bike park located at the Winter Park resort in Colorado hosted this years Colorado Crankworx. In typical Colorado fashion, practice and qualifying for the Slopestyle had multiple disruptions due to weather. As Saturday rolled around the riders had a long day a head of them with qualifications and finals rolled in to one.

This event would mark the fifth event of the year for our very own Brandon Semenuk (RedBull,Trek) and after the first heat it was apparent it would be his fifth win. Brandon would throw down an amazing first run that would score him right into the hot seat for the remainder of the day. Greg Watts (Gary-Fisher, SRAM) was the only one to come close and ended the day in second. Paul Basagoitia would also leave some lasting impressions with a strong third place.

“My goal this year was to go three for three and I exceeded my expectations. Colorado was fun, but I’m fired up for the real deal at home. Crankworx is setting the bar and it’s in my home town. In Colorado I just wanted to have a solid run and not wreck myself. After Alex got hurt I was just hoping my first run would stick and I could stay on top. It was tough watching Alex, who I rode with all weekend, break himself. It really mellowed me out. Hope your healing Pro star.” Brandon Semenuk
With a rain delay for best trick, the judges would use Saturday’s competition for the award. Greg Watts would take the win with an effortless Flip Whip. Greg seems to take best trick contest everywhere he goes but winning a slopestyle still eludes him.
