It's not exactly every day we write to talk about motorcycle racers but as you know over the years cycling has more-and-more become a major training tool for athletes from all walks of sport. Many professional drivers, racers, skiers, stick and ball athletes and more rely on Specialized bikes and equipment to help make sure they are on top of their game. One such athlete is multi-time AMA Supercross and Motocross champion, Ryan Villopoto. Ryan rides Specialized road and mountain bikes not only to stay fit but also to help rehab from injuries.
Ryan tore his ACL this past spring during the Seattle round of the AMA Supercross series, in order to get back on the throttle again in time for the Monster Energy Cup in the fall Ryan needed to focus on a super speedy recovery. With the help of his trainer, former pro mountain bike racer Aldon Baker, and lots of time turning the pedals, Ryan is now poised to achieve this goal as he prepares to line up on the gate this weekend alongside the best riders in the world.
Specialized's film crew followed Ryan through every step of recovery - from surgery, to making his way back onto the bike, back into the gym and ultimately back on the motorcycle. The end result is a three-part film series titled "Ryan Villopoto - Road to Recovery". Specialized is releasing all three episodes today leading into the Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas this weekend.
